What is custom voice?

Custom voice enables you to voice communications in multiplays, but not about voice chat. Custom voice plays wave files which are ready in your PC in advace. With custom voice, you can communicate with others easily in multiplays.
Here is an exapmle using custom voice. This will give you some ideas about what custom voice is like.

Press "0" key. Left window appears in the right-top of your desktop. Then press "9" key to select "Custom".
You can select any voice you like. Here for example, let's select 5:Hooah!. Press "5" key.
Then the voice "Hooah!" is played among players in your multiplay. *Here "group speak" is selected and only group members with you can hear your voice.

Of course, you can select other speaks: "global speak", "side speak", "vehicle speak", "direct speak"

How to make custom voice

You can use following file format; wav, wss, ogg. I recommend you to use ogg file because file size is smaller.

You can make ogg file using ogg converter. I reccomend dBpowerAMP. This software converts files among several formats. But you have to install ogg codec to convert wave files to ogg files. Ogg codec is available in dBpowerAMP site.

Then determin ogg file name. This name is shown when its ogg file is played. I showed example of custom voice "Hooah!". In this case, ogg file name is "Hooah!.ogg".

After making ogg files, put them to proper directory. Make "sound" directory under your personal directory (see fig).
For example, my name is "Laitex", so there is a directory which name is "Laitex". I made "sound" directory under "Laitex" directory and put ogg files in "sound" directory.
In summery, make "sound" folder under
/Codemasters/OperationFlashpoint/Users/xxx
xxx is your name in OFP. Then put ogg files in "sound" directory and you can play them in multiplays.

There is a bug that files which size is smaller than 13kB are not played in OFP. Be sure to make larger ogg file than 13kB, but remember, large size custom voice occupies the band. Be sure to make small ogg files for other people but larger than 13kB.

Custom voice library

Here is my custom voice library. I choice them from America's Army. I uploaded not only ogg files but also wave files, so you can listen to these custom voice. But remember to put "ogg" files in "sound" directory.

You can listen to these ogg files with Winamp. Get it here >>

Bug1 Solved in ver 1.85

There is a bug in ver1.75 that make you stop playing custom voice. This bug occurs when leader orders you and continues until the leader stops order or you accomplish the order. Here is the example of this bug.
See picture, There is two 9s in selection panel. When you press "9" key in this situation,
oh no, "9: Repeat" is selected. I hope this bug to be fixed in the next patch.

Bug2 (serious)

This bug is serious and shut down OFP suddenly. When you select "vehicle speak" and play custom voices though you are not in vehicles, OFP is terminated suddenly. This is a serious bug. So you'd better not to play custom voice in "vehicle speak" unless this bug shoud be fixed.
